The Chequamegon Area Mountain Bike Association (CAMBA) off-road bike trail system consists of over 300 miles of marked and mapped routes through a near-wilderness area of striking beauty and peaceful solitude during every season. The CAMBA system is quickly becoming the Single-track Mecca of the Midwest, with more single-track trail being constructed every year.
If its 4 wheels on the ground or a track and skies cruising across the frozen lake The Sawyer County Snowmobile and ATV Alliance have you covered with dirt or snow. They are the world’s largest single owner of trail grooming equipment. They build, maintain and groom over 600 miles of trails. If you love the sports of snowmobiling or ATV riding, come see why so many visitors return year after year to our area.
The Hayward area has been home to many world-class events and festivals each year. Athletes from around the world come to compete annually in the Lumberjack World Championships, American Birkebeiner cross country ski marathon, and the Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival mountain bike race. Come join us for Musky Fest, Hayward’s largest community event every June that takes up all of main street. There is a festival for every season here in the Northwood’s.
